Happy Thanksgiving

Fletch - Meg and I sure do have much to be thankful for this holiday. God is so good to us. As one might guess, Alaska is a very expensive place to travel to, and this has been weighing heavy on us. It seemed impossible to figure out the costs of traveling around the state, finding places to stay, and everything else we would need. All the money that would be available to us at that time would be tightly guarded and budgeted so that we could get around. Well, when we were in Richmond last weekend at my cousins wedding, my very gracious Aunt Billie offered for Meg and I to stay at her cottage in Acadia. It is such a beautiful place, and it is actually where Meg and I began our journey together. Very fitting, except that was in February and this will be May. This cottage is so close to the ocean that high tide rushes under the deck facing the harbor. Meg and I feel a huge relief with this decision. Alaska is a dream of ours, and we will go another time, but in Maine we can afford to be a little more free with our time and money. It already seems to be like a more relaxing trip...although many adventures we will find in rugged ol' Maine.

Another blessing that the two of us are incredibly thankful for: Joel and Tess Walker. These two are of same mind and heart, and all four of us are certain of a future that takes us to the same place. I don't know how to put it except God has instilled in each one of us that we will live in community in the future, and share life together. The vision is beautiful and exciting, and I wish it were closer than it now appears. Last night we got together with them and listened to their stories from their month long honeymoon in Europe. They certainly were put through the gauntlet over there, but are all the more strong for it. We prayed together and shared our desires for the future. Both Meg and I love these two deeply and I will be honored to have Joel standing by me on that wonderful day in May as my best man. Which is May 5th now due to numerous complications with the other dates. The other men at my side: Dan Keeport, Dave Kim, and of course, Dylan. It will be a glorious day, and full of heart. Be prepared.

So many more things we are thankful for, and hardly enough time to write them all. Most of all, we are thankful for our Saviour who laid himself down and conquered death and raised again bringing grace and power to all his chosen. Of which we confidently are, and forever his because of what he has done. This day and the rest, all our praise to him, all glory and honor to the one who died and was raised again.

I'm glad to hear the honeymoon news, I've been hoping it would all work out. It's always good when big things are simplified like that. It's definately a gift from God to simplify your lives. Yay. You can of course pray for the same kinds of things for us. We need some direction for the future on wedding and post-wedding life stuff, and then for debt and financial responsibilities. We are praying for you two as well, I guess for all the same stuff! Thanks brother (and Megs!)
