Fletch - Surely Gods goodness and mercy cover me, all the days of my life. Surely I am going to dwell in the house of the Lord. Forever and ever more.
The past few weeks have been rough, and full of discouragement. It seemed that Meg and I kept falling to the enemy. This, of course, was due to our wandering from intimacy with our Savior. I am at fault, because as the leader in this relationship it allowed us (and shamefully even encouraged at times) to stray. Meg then fell too. Apathy set in and we just became stagnant for a time. God certainly never took his loving eyes off of us.
Today we struggled through some fierce battling and extremely forceful resistance from the enemy. I think that as a man I have the ability to rebound quicker from a "falling away." I still try to walk wounded, but it is a bit harder for Meg. God has been working on my heart for a number of days and today, I would say, I finally came back to life in full force. Meg as well, but it took much more battling. The enemy swooped down with lies of inadequacy which led to a fortress of stubbornness. A stubbornness to come out and be vunerable. Agreements were made with these lies and the "captivity" grew deeper and stronger. This whole time I was praying over her and trying to speak words of truth into her heart. It seemed to no avail. People were gathering to prayer, our life group and Joel and Tess. Finally, after hours, something happened in Megs heart. She realized its a battle no matter what side you choose, and the better side to choose is the winning one.
Finally, we prayed. Her and I out loud cried out to God for her heart to be brought out of the dark and into the full light of Gods glory. To be revealed for its true beauty. God answered those prayers, and now the most beautiful woman in the world is sitting next to me with a heart full of glory open for all to see. It is a continuing battle for sure, but we have taken hold of this victory in Christs name. And it is good.
Now we are encouraged, and made fully vunerable for all of you to read. I hope you too are encouraged.
