Monday

On the very creatively made path up to Sargent Mnt. It was awesome...

Ontop of Sargent Mnt.

On top of Penobscot Mnt. searching for the creative way back..

Fletch - It's been a busy number of days we have had. Saturday we hiked everywhere. We started out hiking Sargent and Penobscot mountains, which I hiked years ago with my Dad. On the way back to Sargent Meg and I took a small intermission at a pond between the two mountains :). Don't think about it too much. Then we went over to Gilmore and Parkman mountains. It was great feeling the wind and being above treeline. The paths and ridgelines are gourgeous. Balsam and birch forests with billowy lichens and moss everywhere. The path is so thick with needles that you can hardly hear yourself walking. It's beautiful.

Yesterday we climbed South Bubble, overlooking Jordan Pond. It was around 200 feet (estimated) and filled with callenges. I'll let Meg elaborate on that later. After the climb we went into Bar Harbor and got ourselves some live lobsters at $8.50 a pop. We took 'em home and boiled 'em up. It was quite the experience. As I am just getting used to seafood I got pretty grossed out at the dismemberment and guts squirting across the table, that I only ate about 1 claw. Oh well, it was fun, and I plan on doing it again sometime. Anyway, here's my wife.

Top of Pitch TWo on the Bubble

Meg- We've really enjoyed Acadia.. its so relaxing... and we are enjoying being married. Its neat how God is teaching us as we are learning all kinds of new things. There are different ways to love each other now and its been awesome to see how God is showing us the way to do it. Anyway, our hiking was so great..and then we went climbing. Three pitches up and I was pretty nervous. We had a bad experience the other day and I was a bit freaked out... but I was doing pretty well at the Bubble, until the last pitch in a dihedral (like an open book). I'm so greatful that only my husband was there to see the utter vulnerability and echoing frustrations through out the entire valley below us. God is definately working on my heart and revealing some sort of wound. Quite the battle, especially when its revealed through climbing and all..

me finally making it up the bubble... praise god.. that i did and that you can't actually see my face with the anger and frustration on it!!

Today-Monday we relaxed at our cottage to a movie this morning and then headed over to acadia to the sand beach and took a snooozers. it was delicious. and then we watched a very sneaky sneaky seagull (and looking guilty) take a bag of gorp out of this guys bag and proceed to tear it apart, fend off crows, and eat the entire thing! didn't like the m&ms though. We are easily entertained. THunder hole was getting a bit louder today too!

lobsta dina from ba haba...!
